WHITE TROUT

Mature during their first or second year. They have a prolonged inshore spawning season that extends through the spring and summer. Feeds mainly on small fish and shrimp.

Appearance:
The body is pale with a tan or yellowish back fading to a silver or white belly | A pair of large canine teeth at tip of upper jaw | Inside of mouth is yellow | Lacks dark spots on back and barbels on lower jaw

Size:
Up to 15 inches

Habitat:
Coastal waters over sand bottoms in the Gulf of Mexico (rare in Atlantic waters.)
